Welcome

Introducing the Studio Share Series

Hello and welcome to my first blog! This is from me, for you.

I am thrilled to finally bring this goodness to you. I will be sharing it all from the studio! My art is me and I want you to be able to get to know me better so you can experience my art from a place of deeper connection and understanding.

If you have been following along on my socials @kimberlyjane.art for the past few months you would already know that I am back after a 12 month break away from my art studio. I stepped away for a while so I could recalibrate my creative direction and passion. This break has taught me so much and fuelled me with a deep desire to reconnect to my roots as an artist and what lights up my creative soul.

I have dived deep back into my studio and creative energy to rebuild towards my truest self as an artist and my art practice. This process has been beautiful, empowering and challenging while guided by my wonderful coach Steph from @wildly__you. I have spent the last six months looking into what I want to create and how I want to show up in this creative space. I am so proud of this growth as I have felt it calling me over the past few years since starting on this journey to create and share my art. I had personal fears that were holding me back and now I am so ready to let go of my own restrictions and step into my creative practice with freedom and passion. Honestly though, I am so blessed and thankful for the supports in my life that continue to hold this space and vision for me when I have at times doubted myself. Also, the continued encouragement I get from those who engage with me on my socials gives me such a humbling feeling of support. I feel so lucky to be able to share my work with as many people as I do that love to receive it as much as I love to give it.

So, now that you know more about how this transition has felt for me post break, I would like to share with you where my creative direction is moving towards. I feel the call louder than ever to expand my creative practice so that I am feeding from and to both sides of me.

The call to paint landscapes that move me is so deep within my creative energy. There is a burning desire to express onto canvas what I see and feel when I stand before a breath taking landscape. I want to share the colour palettes, textures, shapes and energies that I experience. This work will be soulful and expressive. I will be leaning into the side of me that is sensitive to my natural, earthly surrounds and deeply emotional.

So far, I have been creating from the other side of me that loves structure, discipline and realism. Although, I will still continue to create this style of art, I am so ready to let go, loosen up and express the other half of me as well. The call has been getting louder and louder over the past six months as I submerge deeper into my creative self. I am so excited, fuelled, passionate and intimidated all at the same time.

For me, sometimes being a creative is so exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. It strips energy right before it gives energy and then strips it and then gives it again. I’m learning to find balance with this ebb and flow of energy in the studio and feeling empowered by it rather than restricted by it. Creating is me, my art is me. I’m so thankful Steph has imprinted that into my foundations, giving me the unwavering belief that I am here to create and share my art.

This swirl of energy is powerful and learning to lean into it, to sit with it has been the best experience. I am so ready to grow and find my flow and freedom with creating landscapes and expressionist art. I am so ready to learn through the growing pains. I am so ready to be challenged and moved by this process of exploration and discovery.

  • Wow! We share a first and middle name. I am an artist in southern, California and googled Kimberly Jane Art. But here is where I was blown away…..your first line. I always say my art is perfectly imperfect. Or at least that was my motto when I started working with resin.
I Love your work!! It is clean, uplifting, and beautiful.
